About Us
Allemon’s Landscape Center’s tradition of customer service and care is rooted in 80 years (three generations) of accumulated knowledge and long-term commitment to customer satisfaction. The 4 Allemon generations started out selling the ‘earth’, then moved to selling just about everything on earth for gardeners (people who like to dig in the earth!). The family combined that broad variety of quality landscape-related products with a down-to-earth friendly approach to gardening questions of every sort. Our goal is to extend this to our online customers.
What We're Made Of — Where We Came From
The genesis of Allemon's Landscape Center was born out of hard times. When things looked desperate, the founder applied determination and resourcefulness to provide exceptional customer service that led to today’s success story.
In 1929 William J. Allemon was facing a difficult future. A recent widower with three small children to care for, his prospects were dim. The great depression was in full swing and he, along with most of his friends and family had lost nearly everything in the disastrous economy.
The only thing left was a small, one acre piece of property at the corner of Mack Avenue and University, and a huge determination to make things better for his kids, Florence, Henry and Joe. …more Allemon’s Landscape Center history
Where We're Located
Allemon's Landscape Center is located at 17727 Mack Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48224
We are on the near east side of Detroit, directly across the street from the borders of the Grosse Pointe, Michigan area (zip codes 48224, 48230 and 48236), and about 10 miles north of downtown Detroit, Michigan.
We are conveniently located just 2 miles east of I-94 , at the corner of University and Mack Avenue between Cadieux Road and Moross Road (also referred to as 7 Mile Road).
Our Store Hours
Our store is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year, closed on Christmas Day. Our normal hours of operation are:
April 15 thru Christmas: Monday - Saturday 8am- 6pm. Sunday 8am - 5pm
December 26-April 14 : Monday- Saturday 8am - 5:30pm Sunday 9am-3pm
