PVP 4 Cubic Foot #2 Medium Vermiculite Soil Conditioner
Used for generations, a gardeners favorite for mixing into heavy soils to aerify and lighten them for optimum plant growth. Horticultural grade Vermiculite has become a mainstay as a component of soil less growing mediums, as a soil amendment and in many other horticultural uses. A 4 cubic foot bag measures approximately 40 inches long x 18 inches wide x 5 inches thick , the equivalent to about 2-3 bushels of material, or 29.92 gallons. The processed product is sterile, permanent, odorless and non-toxic. It has the highly desirable characteristic of being lightweight and the capability of moisture and nutrient retention. The finished particles have the layered appearance of a bellows, which enables each particle to hold about 5 times its weight in water. For this reason, vermiculite is a common media amendment when moisture holding capacity needs improvement.
Caution: Although Horticultural Vermiculite is a natural mined product that comes from the earth, it is recommended that you wear a particulate mask when using this product to avoid breathing its airborne particles to protect your lungs and breathing.
